Favorite Co-op Item: Boy, this is tough - Love Buzz coffee. That probably doesn’t sound very healthy but it’s so good first thing in the morning!

Fun Food Story: I grew up in Holland and my first language was Dutch. When I was four years old, I had an important question about cheese. Cheese that is mild, not aged, is called “jonge kaas” and the word for boy is “jongen.” As you can imagine, it sounds almost identical to a four-year-old. I asked my mother in Dutch, “Waarom eten we altijd jongens kaas, is er geen meisjes kaas?” English translation: “Why do we always have boys’ cheese, isn’t there any girls’ cheese?”

What brought you to the Co-op Board?: I wanted to get involved at a different level; I had been a core worker but enjoyed being on other boards, and I thought it would be interesting.
